The Guide
A lifetime of learning one piece of country
Rodney is local to the Northwoods and has spent years hunting the country around Brantwood, learning what makes a good grouse day. His approach is simple: work the cover, follow the birds, and enjoy the time in the woods.
He guides hunts across a mix of private and public land, with a focus on giving hunters a genuine Northern Wisconsin grouse hunting experience. Whether you're an experienced grouse hunter looking for new ground or making your first trip to the Northwoods, he'll help make the most of your time in the field.

Meet the Dog
A 4-Year-Old English Setter with a Nose for Grouse
She's excellent at what matters most in the Northwoods—finding birds and putting them on point. At four years old, she's a seasoned grouse dog with a strong nose and plenty of experience in the woods.
She hasn't quite mastered the art of retrieving yet, but she'll find the birds and give you plenty of opportunities to put them in the bag.
Meet the Dog
Jager — A 3-Month-Old Munsterlander Pup with Big Shoes to Fill
Jager came to us from Feather Cloud Kennels, a Munsterlander breeder in Fremont, Wisconsin. His sire is a show dog living in Scotland, and his dam is a bird-training dog still working at the breeder's kennel—so the instincts run deep on both sides.
At just three months old, his own training is already underway this fall. He's got a long way to go before he's matching the setter in the field, but the nose is there and the desire is growing every day. Keep an eye out for him on your hunt.

What We Stand For
Hunt hard. Respect the woods. Enjoy the day.
We believe a good grouse hunt is about more than the number of birds in the bag. It's about putting in the miles, finding good cover, watching a dog work, and enjoying a day in the Northwoods.
Respect for the Land
We take pride in being responsible stewards of the private and public land we hunt.
Respect for the Birds
We believe in ethical hunting and making the most of every opportunity in the field.
Good Hunting
We put in the work to find birds and give you the best hunt possible, whatever the conditions bring.
Enjoy the Northwoods
Some of the best parts of grouse hunting happen between the birds—the woods, the dogs, the stories, and the people you share it with.
Leave With a Story
At the end of the day, we want you to have more than a successful hunt. We want you to have a day worth remembering.
